Wedding Favor Frenzy!

Hello ladies and grooms to be! Many people find themselves a little frustrated when it's time to choose the wedding favors. There are so many choices and options these days. It can be overwhelming! This blog will help to give you some great ideas and choose the perfect favor!

Wedding favors 101

Wedding favors should be thought of as a "thank you" gift to your guests for coming and supporting your new commitment. Ideally, favors will also become memoirs, reminding your guests of your special day. Favors also serve double-duty by being part of the decor for your reception.

Hot Favor Trends

The boom in Destination Weddings have made Beach Favors really hot this year. Also, candle favors are always a great way to go. Everyone loves candles, right? And you can choose candles that compliment theme of your wedding.

Gold Bridal Jewelry Comeback! Go Gold!

What is all the rage?

Gold bridal or wedding accessories are definitely making a comeback! There is just something about the richness of color and warmth that has won us over. Gold Jewelry and Gold Tiaras are especially popular with light ivory, ivory, dark ivory, or champagne wedding gowns or formal dresses.

Many brides are going for the vintage or traditional look (such as our Champagne Blossom tiara above). This is another reason that gold accents are so popular. Many of the wedding gowns today are inspired from the Art Deco era, and are adorned with gold or champagne accents. It is really a beautiful and timeless look!
So go ahead, GO GOLD!

Why Brides need a Bridal Purse! Gotta have it!

Hey Ladies... continuing with my obsession with bridal accessories. I would like to talk about the all important bag! I am a big fan of the Bridal Purse! Where else are you goung to keep your make-up and other essentials? Therefore, consider the color of your gown and match it with the purse. I have attached some photos of my favorites.

Also, try and match the material of your wedding handbag with the material of your dress. For example, if your wedding gown is made of satin, than choose a handbag made of satin with the same coloring.

Remember, the wedding dress is the principle element of your attire on your wedding day. Everything you choose to accessorize with should compliment the dress and not take away from it.
So have fun with finding the perfect bag! Believe me, you will be glad you opted for it after the wedding ceremony!

Bridal Gloves or no Bridal Gloves? Hmmmm......

TO GLOVE OR NOT TO GLOVE THAT IS THE QUESTION...

With spring and summer fast approaching, many brides are desirous of wearing gloves with their wedding gowns. But alas, as many of my brides write, what to do with the gloves and WHEN?

Gloves with fingers: Before the ceremony, "slit the seams" on the ring finger of your glove. Then just push the material back when it is time for him to place the ring on your finger and wa-la, you are ready for the big moment. After the ring has reached its intended destination, pull the fabric back over your finger. This same approach can also be used to show your rings off to your guests.

Do I wear my gloves during the receiving line?
YES - by all means do so. They are a part of your wedding attire.

Do I wear my gloves while eating?
NO - and that includes the partaking of the cake also.

Do I wear my gloves during the rest of the reception?
YES! If you like. However, many brides do remove their gloves as the festivities wear on.

Therefore.... TO GLOVE or NOT TO GLOVE need no longer be an issue. Just remember the rules and you’ll be fine. Gloves worn with your wedding attire can add grace and dignity to many gowns.

Choosing the Perfect Wedding Veil at Discount Prices

Hello ladies! Hope everyone had a nice holiday!

You have chosen your dream dress, now it is time to select the perfect veil. This can be quite confusing with all the different choices, such as length, color, layers, and all that jazz. But, it can also be lots of fun!

This week, we are going to explore different options for veils.

Traditional Veils

You can never go wrong with a traditional veil. Traditional veils are those with no beading or detail. Although they may have some sort of edging, such as cord or ribbon. This type of veil goes best with wedding gowns that have a great deal of detailing--whether it be all over or just on the bodice. The traditional veil will compliment your look without taking away from the beauty of your dress. And the kicker is... they are also extremely affordable!

Check out the blog later in the week for some info on fabulous beaded veils!

Oh so classic! Pearl Bridal Jewelry...

I have always been partial to the traditional bridal jewelry. And you simply can't go wrong with pearls. I think of people like Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe, Jackie Kennedy--classic beauties who chose so many times to wear.... Pearls!

Whether they are freshwater, white, or ivory, you really can't go wrong with this look. I always tell brides to choose a set that compliments the gown.

If you have a simple wedding dress, then you can go for a more bold pearl jewelry set. If you have a very detailing wedding gown, go for a simple pearl strand with earrings.

If any of you ladies have some great wedding photos with great jewelry, we would love to see and possibly post them. Feel free to email me at help@shopforbridal.com.

Have fabulous day!
